CSMA240 Mixer Amplifier + 12 CSS8008 8" Ceiling Speakers

This JBL package covers a larger room with a complete background music and paging system: one CSMA240 commercial mixer amplifier and twelve CSS8008 8" ceiling speakers, a fit for full-service restaurants, bars, cafes, retail floors, and open offices. The CSMA240 puts out 40W per channel across two output channels and connects directly to 70V or 100V distributed speaker lines through its built-in output transformer, so there is no separate transformer to buy or wire. Each CSS8008 offers 5W, 2.5W, 1.3W, and 0.7W taps on 70V, which lets you run two zones of six speakers at the 5W tap for 30W per channel, staying under the 32W per channel load recommended for this amp. Eight mixer inputs accept mic and line sources on euroblock connectors plus unbalanced RCA, and 27V phantom power runs condenser paging mics. Voice activated ducking on channels 1 and 5 lowers the music when someone speaks, while priority muting silences the other inputs for announcements. Illuminated volume rings stay readable in a dim dining room, each output channel has its own bass and treble, and RJ45 ports accept JBL CSR-V in-wall volume controls (sold separately). Sleep mode powers the amp down after about 30 minutes without signal and wakes it when audio returns.

Overhead, every CSS8008 pairs an 8" dual-cone driver with 96 dB sensitivity and 120° coverage, reaching a solid listening level even at low tap settings across 55 Hz to 16 kHz. With an 8.5" open-back cutout and just 2.8" of depth behind the grille, the speakers fit standard drop ceilings in shops, dining rooms, and waiting areas.
