Product Description

The dbx 234XS is a dual-channel crossover built around fully balanced XLR inputs and outputs, giving touring engineers and installers a rugged way to split a signal and route the right frequencies to each speaker driver. Like the rest of the dbx crossover line, it switches between stereo 2-way or 3-way operation and mono 4-way operation, so the same box works for a straightforward two-way PA or a more involved biamped or triamped setup. Linkwitz-Riley 24dB per octave filters keep the crossover points phase-coherent, avoiding the dips and comb-filtering that lesser designs introduce at the handoff between drivers. A 40Hz low-cut filter on both channels clears subsonic content before it wastes amplifier power, while independent level controls and phase reverse switches on every output let you fine-tune gain staging and correct polarity issues between horns and woofers. An optional mono-summed subwoofer output combines the low end from both channels into a single dedicated sub feed. Status LEDs clearly show whether the unit is running in stereo or mono mode, which matters when you're troubleshooting a rack in a dark venue. Built with the same precision componentry as other dbx processors, the 234XS is equally at home in a touring rig, a fixed install, or a studio monitor chain.

Features

    • Rugged XLR Connectivity

Balanced XLR inputs and outputs give the 234XS a secure, road-ready connection standard for touring racks and fixed installs alike.

    • One Crossover, Multiple Configurations

Switchable stereo 2-way, 3-way, or mono 4-way operation lets a single unit handle a simple PA or a fully biamped rig.

    • Phase-Coherent Crossover Points

Linkwitz-Riley 24dB per octave filters keep the transition between drivers even, avoiding the comb-filtering effects of lesser crossover designs.

    • Cleaner Amplifier Power

The 40Hz low-cut filter on both channels strips subsonic energy so your amps focus their headroom on usable signal.

    • Precise Driver Matching

Independent level controls and phase reverse switches on every output let you balance gain and correct polarity between horns and woofers.
