Product Description
The Wizard function walks you through setup for the room you are actually working in, so filter counts and modes are not a guessing game during soundcheck. Fixed filters lock in the trouble spots found during setup, while Live filters stay active during the show to catch feedback that appears when performers move or the room fills with people. Selectable filter lift times release a filter once the condition passes, so a correction made at soundcheck does not sit on the signal all night.
Application-specific filter types cover speech and music at low, medium, and high settings, which sets how aggressively the processor reacts to the material in front of it.
A full LCD display puts setup and monitoring information in front of you instead of buried in menus, and 24 LEDs per channel show which filters have fired and how hard they are working. Input metering keeps levels visible. Both channels offer XLR and 1/4" TRS inputs and outputs, so the AFS2 drops into a rack between a console and a crossover or amplifier.
Conversion uses dbx Type IV with dynamic range above 119 dB A-weighted, THD+Noise at 0.003% typical, and 20 Hz to 20 kHz response. The 1U chassis weighs 4.5 lb and draws 9 W.
Features
-
Twice the Filters
Up to 24 programmable filters per channel go far past the ten or twelve typical of feedback processors, giving you room to tame difficult stages and multiple open mics.
-
Surgical, Not Blunt
Filter Q down to 1/80 of an octave pulls out only the ringing frequency, so a vocal keeps its character while the feedback disappears from the room.
-
Setup Without Guesswork
The Wizard function walks you through configuration step by step, so the AFS2 is tuned to the actual room instead of a generic starting point.
-
Protection That Follows the Show
Fixed filters hold the trouble spots found at soundcheck while Live filters stay on watch for feedback that appears as performers move and the room fills.
-
See What It Is Doing
A full LCD display and 24 filter LEDs per channel show exactly which frequencies have been caught, so you can spot a problem mic or monitor immediately.
