ZC-8 Volume/Source Wall Mount Zone Controller

The dbx ZC-8 is a wall-mount zone controller built to extend the utility of dbx's DriveRack and ZonePRO processors into individual rooms or zones. It uses simple analog DC voltage logic to handle zone source selection, volume control, and muting, so someone in a conference room, restaurant zone, or retail space can adjust their own sound without touching the rack in the equipment closet. The ZC-8 specifically provides programmable push-button volume control alongside programmable rotary source selection, giving each zone independent control over what's playing and how loud it is. It connects over readily available CAT5 cable with standard RJ-45 connectors, and depending on the wiring configuration, it can run at distances up to 1000 feet from the processing rack, which keeps installation costs down compared to proprietary cabling. DIP switches let you identify each controller when several are wired into the same ZonePRO system, so an installer can add zone control to a building without running new conduit or learning a specialized cabling standard. It's built to the same commercial-install standards as the rest of the dbx contractor line, with UL and IEC safety certifications that make it straightforward to specify on a commercial audio job.
