ZC1 [Used]

The dbx ZC-1 puts volume control for a zone on the wall where people need it, without handing over the rest of the system. It provides computer-programmable rotary volume control for the dbx DriveRack 220i, DriveRack 260, and ZonePRO devices, so staff can set the level in a dining room, retail floor, or meeting space while the installer's EQ, limiting, and routing stay untouched inside the processor.

Wiring uses standard CAT5 or CAT5E with RJ-45 connectors, the cable already running through most commercial buildings, which keeps material and labor costs down. Two RJ-45 jacks support series wiring from one controller to the next; maximum run depends on how many controllers share the line, roughly 600 ft with three controllers and 300 ft with six. Parallel wiring through a ZC-BOB supports up to six controllers at 1000 ft. DIP switches assign each panel an address so the processor knows which zone it controls.

Control is analog DC voltage, which keeps behavior consistent across long cable runs and makes troubleshooting straightforward.

The ZC-1 is one of nine dbx Zone Controllers covering volume, source selection, muting, program and scene recall, and fire safety muting. A single job can mix panel types so each room gets exactly the control it needs and nothing beyond that.
