Clarett+ 8Pre

Clarett+ 8Pre is a 26-in/28-out rackmount USB-C audio interface built to sit at the centre of a working studio. Eight Clarett+ mic preamps each carry a 57 dB gain range, 118 dB of dynamic range and -129 dBu EIN noise, enough to mic a full drum kit, a horn section or a live room and keep every channel clean. All-Analogue Air on every preamp switches impedance to 2.2 kOhm and adds a 4 dB high-frequency shelf, echoing the Focusrite ISA 110 that made the name. Two JFET Hi-Z inputs let guitars and basses record direct with their natural tone intact. Independent A-D and D-A converters run to 24-bit/192 kHz, with 124 dB of dynamic range and -106 dB THD+N on the line outputs, so what you hear back matches what you recorded. Two headphone outputs hold a flat response at every level, giving the engineer and the artist separate foldback mixes. ADAT optical adds eight more inputs and outputs through an outboard preamp expander, and S/PDIF plus MIDI in and out connect converters, synths and controllers. Focusrite Control runs routing, monitor mixes and settings from a computer or iOS device, and the interface fits a single rack space with an IEC power connection. A bundled software collection covers recording, mixing, virtual drums and synths, and Focusrite backs the hardware with a three-year warranty.
