The 18i20 handles the heavy lifting with 18 inputs and 20 outputs, eight 4th-generation mic preamps at 69dB of gain, and 24-bit, 192kHz converters delivering 122dB of dynamic range, so two vocalists, an interview pair, or a small band can be tracked simultaneously without running out of clean inputs.

Each RCM SR mic uses a 25mm cartridge and Samsung capacitors for stable, consistent recordings, with a cardioid pattern that keeps room noise and bleed out of the take; a metal shock mount and pop filter ship with each mic. Two PRO-M50 SR closed-back headphones with 40mm neodymium drivers connect to the interface's two independent headphone amps, so each performer can monitor their own mix while tracking. Auto Gain sets usable mic levels in seconds and Clip Safe watches for clipping up to 96,000 times a second, which matters when two people are recording live at once.
