An injected poly cone keeps the moving mass low for quick response, while the 1-inch NBR reinforced rubber surround allows a longer excursion than a stiffer surround would, useful for pushing more air at higher volumes. The one-piece poly cotton spider centers the cone accurately over time, and a vented back plate paired with a chrome stamped steel basket moves heat away from the voice coil during extended bass-heavy playback. Rated for 400 watts RMS and 800 watts peak per subwoofer, the pair handles a wide range of amplifier power without needing to be pushed to their limits just to feel the bass. They work in sealed or ported enclosures, with a recommended sealed volume around 1.25 cubic feet or a ported volume between 1.6 and 2.0 cubic feet per subwoofer, so the box design stays straightforward whether space is tight or open.
