BXIPRO3.0

The Hifonics BXiPRO3.0 is a digital bass enhancement processor with a dash-mount dual concentric remote that puts bass level and output level on a single knob. It restores low-frequency content lost in compressed audio files and factory systems, then feeds a clean, adjustable signal to a subwoofer amplifier.

Tuning goes well past a level knob. Bass width and sweep adjustments set how much low end gets boosted and where it sits, with EQ boost variable to +8.1dB. A fixed 4V full-range output feeds the rest of the system while the subwoofer output stays adjustable from 0V to 9V. Setup test tones at 100Hz and 1000Hz let input and output levels be set accurately, with clip indicators on both stages.

Inputs cover low-level RCA and speaker-level connections that accept up to 48V before clipping, with balanced differential inputs for noise rejection and 20k ohm input impedance on both. Turn-on can be triggered by a remote wire, DC sense, or music sense, with a 0.1 second delay that keeps pops and hisses out of the speakers. Screw-in power and speaker connectors hold their connection through road vibration.

Frequency response runs 10Hz to above 50kHz at -3dB, signal-to-noise is rated at -84.0dBA, and current draw is 0.32A behind a 1A mini ATC fuse on a 9.5V to 15V supply. The small chassis measures 134mm long, 109mm wide, and 30.5mm high, which leaves room to mount it behind the dash or next to an amplifier.
