Pair Hifonics HCC4CX 4" 75 Watt 2-Way Coaxial Car Audio Speakers

The Hifonics HCC4CX is a pair of 4-inch two-way coaxial speakers from the COLOSSUS Classic line, built as a direct replacement for tired factory speakers in dash, door, and rear deck locations. Each speaker handles 40W RMS and 75W peak with 88dB sensitivity, so they respond well to head unit power and better still with a small amplifier behind them.

A 1-inch aluminum dome tweeter mounted at the center of the cone extends the top end and keeps vocals and detail present at road speed. The lightweight blue woven fiber cone moves quickly through the midrange, and a butyl rubber surround adds mid-bass weight while resisting heat and sunlight. A passive Butterworth crossover at 6kHz with a 12dB slope keeps the handoff between cone and tweeter clean.

Inside, a pure copper voice coil on a Kapton former sheds heat, an epoxy-infused natural fiber spider keeps the cone centered under power, and an over-coil cooling system moves air across the coil through the spider. A ferrite magnet supplies the motor force in a package small enough for shallow factory pockets, and an anti-resonant stamped steel basket keeps the frame from ringing.

Mounting uses a 3.69in cut-out with a 5.39in outside diameter and 3.0in of depth, so measure before ordering in shallow doors. Frequency response runs 80Hz to 20kHz. Grilles are not supplied because these usually mount behind a panel or dash. The pair weighs 2.7 lb.
