ZS35CX

The Hifonics ZS35CX is a pair of 3.5 inch 2-way coaxial speakers built as a direct replacement for factory dash and pillar locations. Each speaker handles 25W RMS and 125W peak, for 50W RMS and 250W peak per pair, at 4 ohms, so they run off head unit power or a low-power amplifier channel.

Sensitivity is 88 dB at 1W/1m and response spans 80Hz to 20kHz. In a small dash location that combination matters more than raw wattage: these play noticeably cleaner than aged paper factory speakers at the same volume, with real high frequency detail instead of muffled top end.

The 1 inch neo-Mylar soft dome tweeter is impact resistant and crosses over at 6kHz through a passive Butterworth network at 12dB per octave, so the handoff from midrange to treble stays even. The woofer uses an alpha-cellulose cone for low mass and stiffness, a moisture resistant rubber surround for midbass output, a pure copper voice coil on a Kapton former, and an epoxy infused natural fiber spider. Overcoil cooling moves air across the voice coil through the spider during long listening sessions.

The anti-resonant stamped steel basket resists flex and ringing, and a ferrite motor keeps the magnet structure small enough for shallow dash pockets. Mounting cutout is 3.41 in with 1.5 in of depth. Spade connectors or direct solder handle the wiring. No grills are included, since these mount in factory dash openings that already have a cover.
