2 JBL Control 23-1-WH 3" Indoor/Outdoor 70v Commercial White Wall Mount Speakers

The JBL Control 23-1 is an ultra-compact two-way speaker for spots where a full-size box would look wrong and sound overkill. A 3 in woven-fiberglass woofer and a 0.5 in PEI diaphragm tweeter with fluid cooling cover 70 Hz to 20 kHz, which is a genuinely wide range for a cabinet this small.

Coverage is 100 by 100 degrees, tight enough to place speakers along a wall without heavy overlap and wide enough that people are not walking through dead zones. Sensitivity is 86 dB and power handling is 50 W continuous pink noise at 8 ohms with 100 W program, giving 103 dB continuous SPL at one meter. That covers foreground music and paging in retail, cafes, health clubs, hospitality, and theme parks.

Wiring goes either way. Use the 8 ohm thru setting for a local amplifier, or select the built-in multi-tap transformer at 15 W, 7.5 W, 3.7 W, or 1.8 W on 70V lines (100V: 15 W, 7.5 W, 3.7 W) with less than 0.43 dB insertion loss at any tap.

Mounting uses JBL's InvisiBall system, which is included. The hardware hides behind the logo badge, so there is no visible bracket and no obvious way to remove the speaker, which helps in public spaces. Two 6 mm attachment points accept the optional MTC-23UB-1 U-bracket, and a safety loop sits on the back panel.

The enclosure is high-impact polystyrene with a zinc-plated powder-coated grille, rated IP-44 and tested past Mil Spec 810 for humidity, salt spray, temperature, and UV. Finished in white, each speaker weighs 4.0 lb and measures 7.9 x 5.6 x 4.4 in.
