(2) JBL Control 424LP 4" Low Profile 70v/16-ohm Commercial In-Ceiling Speakers

The JBL Control 424LP is a two-way coaxial ceiling loudspeaker featuring a coaxial 4 in treated paper-cone woofer and 0.75 in textile soft-dome tweeter, plus a low-profile enclosure under 100 mm deep for ceilings with restricted plenum space. This pair suits restaurants, bars, cafes, offices, and retail floors where the ceiling has to carry both background music and paging.

Integrated CRBI technology holds a consistent 130 degrees conical pattern across the listening area, reducing on-axis hot spots and off-axis cold spots so the sound character stays the same as people move through the space. Fewer speakers and fewer amplifier channels cover the same floor.

Frequency range is 75 Hz - 18 kHz with 60 W (240 W peak) continuous pink noise handling over two hours and 40 W (160 W peak) over 100 hours, reaching 103 dB continuous pink noise, 109 dB peak. Sensitivity is 85 dB and coverage is 130 degrees conical.

Wiring works either way. The built-in multi-tap transformer offers 70V taps at 30 W, 15 W, 7.5 W, 3.7 W (100V: 30 W, 15 W, 7.5 W), or connect directly at 16 ohms for a low-impedance amplifier.

The terminal cover gives both top and side cable entry, so conduit routing does not dictate speaker placement. The captive dogear design works across a wide range of ceiling thicknesses and holds position during tightening. Cutout size is 224 mm (8.8 in).

The full-face magnetic grille takes paint, so the speakers disappear into any ceiling color. Safety tethers mount directly into the baffle. Optional black round and white square grilles are available.

Rated IP33 per EN/IEC 60529 and listed for air handling spaces per UL 2043 and UL 1480A. Each speaker weighs 6.7 lb and measures 4.2 in H by 9.9 in in diameter.
