The JBL Control 426C/T is a two-way coaxial in-ceiling loudspeaker built for background music and paging in commercial rooms. Each speaker pairs a 165 mm (6.5 in) woofer with a 25 mm (1 in) textile soft-dome tweeter in an integrated back can that fits most ceiling plenum spaces. Coplanar RBI (CRBI) technology spreads 110 degrees of even conical coverage, cutting down on-axis hot spots and off-axis dead zones so the sound stays consistent as people move through the room. More even coverage also means fewer speakers and amplifier channels per zone. A built-in multi-tap transformer supports 70V and 100V distributed lines at 60 W, 30 W, 15 W and 7.5 W, plus a 12-ohm direct input for low-impedance wiring. Installation is quick: terminal covers offer top and side cable entry and close with captive hand-screws, and the captive dogears hold across a wide range of ceiling thicknesses. The full-face magnetic grille sits flush, takes paint, and carries a safety tether anchored to the baffle. Optional black round and white square grilles are available for different design schemes. Rated IP33 and listed for air-handling spaces per UL2043, NFPA 90A and NFPA 70, this pair suits restaurants, retail floors, offices, lobbies, medical suites, hotels and classrooms, and covers a mid-size dining room or a two-zone retail floor.
