The JBL Control 419CS/T is an in-ceiling subwoofer that extends the low end of a distributed ceiling system. An 8 in (200 mm) woofer sits in an integrated enclosure with two large tapered ports, producing warm bass from 47 Hz to 320 Hz and up to 112 dB continuous output. Pair it with Control 400 Series full-range ceiling speakers and music gains weight and body instead of thinning out at background levels. A built-in passive low-pass filter handles the crossover, so the sub connects to the same amplifier line as the full-range speakers with no outboard processing. The multi-tap transformer covers 70V and 100V distributed systems at 60 W, 30 W, 15 W and 7.5 W, with an 8-ohm direct input for low-impedance wiring. Installation follows the same pattern as the rest of the series: terminal covers with top and side cable entry close using captive hand-screws, and captive dogears hold across a wide range of ceiling thicknesses. The full-face magnetic grille sits flush, accepts paint, and includes a safety tether anchored to the baffle, with optional black round and white square grilles available. Rated IP33 and listed for air-handling spaces per UL2043, NFPA 90A and NFPA 70, this pair fits restaurants, bars, retail floors, fitness studios, hotel lounges and any ceiling system that needs bass without floor-standing cabinets.
