The JBL CSA 140Z anchors the system with a single 40W channel built on Crown's DriveCore technology, which replaces hundreds of discrete parts with one chip to cut down on points of failure while keeping the sound clean. Built-in 70V and 100V operation lets it power a distributed system straight out of the box, and a universal power supply accepts 100 to 240 VAC so it works on nearly any electrical service. The fanless 1U rack design stays quiet enough for a dining room, and a sleep mode disable function keeps the amp always ready for paging or background music. The package also includes the 8 Rockville MS81 in-ceiling speakers, built with a metal housing that blends into a standard ceiling grid. A front-facing volume knob is camouflaged into the grille, so power can be tweaked without pulling the speaker down, and an 8-ohm transformer bypass covers standard 8-ohm applications alongside 70V and 25V taps. The 8" cone moves more air than a 6.5" or 5.25" option, giving it a deeper bass response for retail floors and school hallways.
