Product Description

The JBL GSB8 is an 8-inch in-ground landscape subwoofer in tan that extends the low-frequency range of JBL GSF full-range landscape speakers. It reaches 35 Hz, which is deeper than most buried systems manage, and it does it in a cabinet compact enough for courtyards, patios and planting beds where a 12-inch sub would be more than the space needs.

The enclosure installs underground with only the audio port showing at grade. The chamber is oriented directly below the port rather than to one side, so routine landscaping work stays clear of it. Grab handles help with placement and anchor tabs tie the cabinet to blocks or ground anchors.

A built-in steep, multiple-slope lowpass filter handles the low-frequency handoff without outboard processing. A premium 100W subwoofer-band transformer covers 70V and 100V lines with taps at 100W, 50W and 25W, and low-impedance direct operation is available. Power handling is 250W continuous pink noise with 1,000W peak and 114 dB peak SPL.

The 209 mm polypropylene driver uses a thermoplastic vulcanizate surround, and the LDPE polyethylene enclosure carries color throughout a 6 mm minimum wall. Common installs include hotel grounds, restaurant patios, retail exteriors and public spaces. Net weight is 20.5 lb.

Features

    • Real Low End In A Small Footprint

True subwoofer output down to 35 Hz comes from a cabinet sized for patios and courtyards where a 12-inch enclosure would be oversized.

    • Invisible Once Installed

The cabinet buries underground with only the audio port at grade, keeping gardens and walkways free of visible speaker hardware.

    • Built To Survive Groundskeeping

The chamber sits directly below the port rather than off to one side, keeping the buried volume clear of shovels, edgers and aeration equipment.

    • One Less Box In The Rack

A steep, multiple-slope lowpass filter is built into the subwoofer, so the low-frequency handoff happens without an outboard processor.

    • Wires Into Distributed Systems

A premium 100W subwoofer-band transformer serves 70V and 100V lines at three tap settings, or connect directly for low-impedance operation.
