JBL Pro JRX225 2,000 Watt Dual 15" Inch 2-Way DJ P/A Passive Speaker

The JBL JRX225 is a passive two-way PA speaker built for live sound rigs that need high output from a single cabinet. Two JBL M115-8A 15-inch low frequency drivers with 2.5-inch edgewound ribbon voice coils handle 500W continuous and 2,000W peak, while a JBL 2414H-C 1-inch polymer diaphragm compression driver on a Progressive Transition waveguide covers the top end with 90 by 50 degree dispersion. Together they reach 133 dB maximum SPL across a 42 Hz to 18 kHz range, and 100 dB sensitivity means the cabinet gets loud on modest amplifier power.

The crossover network uses high-voltage capacitors and inductors with large cores and heavy gauge wire, so the speaker holds its tone at high output levels. SonicGuard circuitry limits excess power reaching the compression driver without cutting the performance short. A 19 mm MDF enclosure, non-resonant all-steel handles, and an 18-gauge hexagon perforated steel grille stand up to weekly load-ins.

Setup stays simple. The dual-angle pole-mount socket sets the cabinet flat on a speaker pole or tilts it 10 degrees down toward the audience, which helps in low-ceiling bars, banquet halls, and school gyms. Inputs are a Neutrik Speakon NL-4 and a 1/4-inch TS jack wired in parallel, so linking a second cabinet takes one short cable. Pair the JRX225 with an amplifier rated 500W to 1,000W into 4 ohms.

At 94 lb and 43 inches tall, the JRX225 fits mobile DJs covering 200 to 400 person rooms, bands working clubs and outdoor parties, houses of worship, and gymnasium sound systems where one pair of mains has to carry the whole room.
