Product Description
Each unit carries a 200 mm (8 in) dual-cone driver with a 25 mm voice coil, Kapton coil former, and high-temperature wire for steady long-term operation. Sensitivity of 96 dB is high for a ceiling speaker, which means a low tap setting still produces usable level and a small amplifier can feed a large number of units. Coverage is 100 degrees conical, and the voicing is tuned for speech clarity as well as background and foreground music.
The built-in 10 Watt transformer works on 70V or 100V distributed lines with taps at 10W, 5W, and 2.5W, plus a 1.3W tap on 70V. A rotary switch on the side of the rear enclosure changes taps without pulling the speaker out of the grid. You can also bypass the transformer and run 20W direct at 8 ohms from a low impedance amplifier.
Wiring lands on bare-wire terminals inside a touch-proof compartment, with knock-outs on the top and side. Two seismic tabs plus four corner holes tie the speaker to the ceiling deck, and UL1480A and UL2043 listings allow use in air handling spaces. Steel enclosure, steel baffle, white perforated grille.
Features
-
Drops Straight Into The Grid
The speaker lays into a standard 2 ft x 2 ft US ceiling grid with no tile cutting, which keeps installation fast and leaves no debris behind.
-
Fits Shallow Ceiling Cavities
A depth of only 4.1 inches clears ductwork, conduit, and tight plenums where deeper ceiling speakers physically will not go.
-
Loud From Small Amplifiers
Sensitivity of 96 dB turns limited amplifier power into real volume, so a low tap setting still covers a classroom, lounge, or retail floor.
-
Three Ways To Wire It
A side rotary switch sets 10W, 5W, or 2.5W taps on 70V or 100V lines, or you can run 20W direct at 8 ohms from a low impedance amp.
-
Rated For Plenum Installs
UL1480A and UL2043 listings allow use in air handling spaces, and two seismic tabs plus four corner holes secure each speaker to the deck.
