JRX218S 18" Subwoofer + RPA12 Amplifier Package

This package puts a complete low-end system in one order: the JBL JRX218S 18" passive subwoofer, a Rockville RPA12 two-channel amplifier to power it, and a 25' Speakon cable to connect the two. The parts were picked to work together, so you're not left guessing at amp ratings or hunting for the right cable after the boxes arrive.

The JRX218S is rated at 350W continuous and 1,400W peak, reaches down to 34 Hz, and tops out at 133 dB peak. JBL recommends 350W to 700W into 4 ohms, and the RPA12 delivers 700W RMS per channel at 4 ohms in stereo mode, right at the top of that range. Its crossover switch (bypass, 80 Hz, or 160 Hz) sends only low frequencies to the sub, and the built-in limiter helps protect the driver from clipping when a set gets loud. The second channel stays free for another 4-ohm sub down the road, and the XLR output passes signal to an additional amp or powered sub.

Setup is quick. Run the 14 AWG, 100% copper RCSS1425 cable from the amp's Speakon output to either of the sub's two NL4 inputs, rack the 2U amp, and you're ready to play. The top-mounted 36 mm pole cup accepts an optional pole, so the cabinet doubles as a base for your mid-high speakers at DJ gigs, band rehearsals, school events, and church services. A carpeted 3/4" MDF enclosure, steel handles, and an 18-gauge steel grille hold up to regular loading in and out.
