KD-X280BT

The KD-X280BT is a single-DIN digital media receiver. Dropping the CD mechanism shortens the chassis to 3-15/16 inches deep, which matters in trucks, classic cars, and custom dashes where there is little room behind the opening. At 1.3 lb, it puts almost no load on the mounting bracket.

Audio comes from a front USB port that reads MP3, WMA, WAV, and FLAC files, from Bluetooth 4.2 streaming, or from the front AUX input. JVC Streaming DJ holds up to five Bluetooth devices at once, and two phones can stay connected full time, so calls to either line are answered with one key press. HFP 1.7 wideband speech keeps hands-free conversations clear over road noise.

Output is 50W x 4 maximum and 22W x 4 full bandwidth at less than 1% THD. One pair of 2.5V preouts, switchable between rear and subwoofer, gives you a path to an amplifier when the system grows. Tuning covers a 13-band graphic EQ, 11 presets, bass boost, loudness control, high- and low-pass filters, time alignment, K2 processing, virtual surround, Sound Response, Sound Lift, and Volume Link EQ for road noise.

The VA LCD stays readable at an angle, and the Music Sync effect moves the illumination in time with what is playing. Spanish menu text is available. USB charging runs up to 1.5A, the face panel detaches, and factory steering wheel controls can be kept with a third-party adapter (sold separately).
