KS-DR1004D

The KS-DR1004D is a compact 4-channel Class-D amplifier built for vehicles that live outdoors. A conformal coating covers the circuit boards, forming a barrier against moisture, salt spray, and airborne contaminants, which is what separates a powersports amplifier from a standard car amp after a season of mud and rain.

Output is 45W x 4 RMS into 4 ohms and 45W x 4 into 2 ohms, or 90W x 2 bridged into 4 ohms, with 400W maximum power. Load impedance allowance runs 2 to 8 ohms, so it pairs with most speaker sets found in a RZR, ATV, UTV, or golf cart, along with marine and standard car systems. Signal-to-noise ratio is greater than 82dB, CEA-2006 compliant.

Separated pre-amp and power-amp circuit boards cut radiated noise inside the chassis, and a large LPF coil holds distortion down at high volume. Rotary variable high-pass and low-pass filters cover 50Hz to 200Hz at -12dB/oct, giving finer control than a fixed switch. You can cross a set of pod speakers above 100Hz and send everything below to a subwoofer amplifier.

Inputs cover RCA on both channel pairs plus a speaker-level input with signal-sensing turn-on, so it works with a factory head unit that has no preouts. Input sensitivity spans 0.2 to 5V. At 5-11/16 x 1-3/4 x 3-7/8 inches and 1.5 lb, it mounts under a seat or behind a panel where space is tight.
