The KW-M595BT is a double-DIN receiver with a 6.8-inch WSVGA capacitive touchscreen, roughly 1.6 times the resolution of a standard WVGA panel. Text stays sharp and album art and video hold their color gradients.

Apple CarPlay and Android Auto both connect over USB, putting maps, messages, and music from your phone on the screen with voice control. If you want something outside those systems, the MirrorApp+ app mirrors the phone over USB for apps such as Waze, YouTube, and Instagram, with touch control from either screen.

iDatalink Maestro RR or RR2 (sold separately) is where this model earns its place in a late-model vehicle. It retains factory steering wheel audio controls, the factory amplifier, and secondary displays, and it can show vehicle data such as performance readouts, climate settings, and battery voltage on the receiver screen.

Output is 50W x 4 maximum and 22W x 4 full bandwidth, with a 13-band graphic EQ, 7 presets plus 3 user slots, bass boost, high- and low-pass filters, speaker size control, and time alignment. Three pairs of 2.5V preamp outputs cover front, rear, and subwoofer for an amplified build. It is SiriusXM Ready with the separate tuner.

Bluetooth includes HFP 1.8 wideband speech through the built-in microphone, AVRCP 1.6 song browsing, and automatic pairing for iPhone and Android. USB charging runs to 2.1A. The rear chassis is compact for a double-DIN unit, and the receiver weighs 2.41 lb with the trim plate. Gesture touch control and a rear view camera input round it out.
