The KW-V660BT is a double-DIN CD/DVD receiver with a 6.8-inch WVGA capacitive touchscreen. It is one of the few current head units that keeps a disc mechanism while still running Apple CarPlay and Android Auto over USB, which matters if you have a CD or DVD library you are not ready to give up.

Disc and USB playback cover MP3, WMA, WAV, AAC, and FLAC audio plus H.264, WMV, MPEG 1/2, MPEG-4, AVI, and MKV video. CD-R/RW and DVD-R/-RW, +R/+RW discs are supported, along with Video CD.

CarPlay and Android Auto connect through the rear USB port for maps, calls, and music with voice control. The Mirroring OA for JVC app puts an Android screen on the display over USB for apps outside those systems. Bluetooth adds hands-free calling with HFP 1.6 wideband speech, phonebook access with alphabetical search, and automatic pairing for Android.

Power is 50W x 4 maximum and 22W x 4 full bandwidth, with a 13-band graphic EQ, 7 presets plus 3 user slots, bass boost, filters, and time alignment. Two pairs of 2.0V preamp outputs plus a subwoofer cable output handle external amplifiers. A rear view camera input and a switchable AV input cover cameras and extra sources.

The capacitive panel supports gesture touch control, USB charging runs at 1.5A, and it is SiriusXM Ready with the separate tuner. Factory steering wheel controls carry over with a third-party adapter (sold separately), and the RM-RK258 remote is optional. Installed size is 7 x 3-15/16 x 6 inches at 4.4 lb with sleeve and trim plate.
