Product Description

The KW-V960BW is a double-DIN CD/DVD receiver with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, high-resolution audio playback, and three pairs of 5.0V preamp outputs. It suits a system where the head unit is the front end for external amplifiers rather than the whole story.

Built-in Wi-Fi carries CarPlay and Android Auto with no cable, and wireless mirroring covers apps outside those systems on supported Android phones. USB mirroring works for iPhone and Android with the JVC app. Two rear USB ports charge at up to 1.5A.

Audio is where it separates from the rest of the range. FLAC playback runs up to 192kHz/24bit, roughly 6.5 times the data of a CD, and LDAC Bluetooth streaming moves up to 990 kbps, about three times conventional Bluetooth audio, with no down-conversion of hi-res files. K2 processing extends the frequency range of compressed material. Tuning covers a 13-band graphic EQ, 8 presets plus 4 user slots, a 3-way crossover, time alignment, virtual surround, Sound Response, Sound Lift, Volume Link EQ, and a dual-zone function. The 5.0V preouts keep the noise floor low on long runs to amplifiers.

The 6.8-inch clear resistive panel is bright with vivid color, and the dynamic GUI shows time, photos, album art, or iDatalink Maestro data on the home screen, with two-finger swipes to split the view. Camera inputs cover rear, front, and a third camera for blind spots. Bluetooth 5.0 keeps two phones connected full time and up to five devices paired. iDatalink Maestro RR (sold separately) retains factory controls and vehicle data.
