The Kicker 45KM124 is a 12-inch marine subwoofer built to put out serious low end in a sealed or ported enclosure while standing up to the sun, spray, and vibration of life on a boat. A 4-ohm voice coil, injection-molded polypropylene cone, and co-molded Santoprene surround combine for 175W RMS and 350W peak power handling, with a UniPlate back plate and pole piece keeping the motor structure compact. The polymer basket resists corrosion, and the cone and surround meet ASTM standards for UV and salt-fog exposure, so the subwoofer holds up through repeated seasons on the water. Stainless mounting hardware and a rear gasket are included, along with thick tinsel leads built for the constant flex of marine use. At a 5.5-inch mounting depth and 11-inch cutout, the 45KM124 fits a sealed enclosure between 1.25 and 3.5 cubic feet or a vented enclosure between 1.75 and 2.25 cubic feet, giving installers room to size the box for the space and the sound they want. The larger 13-inch outer diameter and 12-inch cone deliver noticeably more low-end output than the 10-inch KM subwoofers, without giving up any of the marine-grade construction.
