The CXA660.5 runs an entire system from one chassis: four full-range channels for door speakers plus a dedicated bass channel for a subwoofer. The full-range side uses Class A/B output for midrange and top-end quality, while the bass channel uses efficient Class D power, so each part of the system gets the topology that suits it.

Output is 65 W RMS per channel into 4 ohms, 90 W per channel into 2 ohms, and 180 W into two bridged channels, plus up to 300 W into the bass channel. That covers a front stage, a rear pair, and a subwoofer without a second amplifier, a second power run, or a second ground.

Tuning is on board for both halves. The full-range channels use a variable high-pass from 10 Hz to 200 Hz at 12 dB per octave, and the sub channel uses a variable low-pass from 50 Hz to 200 Hz with a 24 dB subsonic filter at 25 Hz. KickEQ variable bass boost adds up to 6 dB at 40 Hz, adjustable from the dash with the optional CXARC remote.

FIT+ Fail-safe Integration Technology-PLUS and 40-volt speaker-level inputs let it integrate with a factory radio directly. A three-second turn-on and turn-off delay keeps thumps out of the speakers. The chassis is 14-1/8 inches long and weighs 8.3 lb, with vertical mounting hardware included.
