Product Description

The Kicker KISLOC turns factory speaker-level output into a clean RCA signal an aftermarket amplifier can read. That is the missing link in almost every factory-radio build: the stock head unit has no preamp outputs, and the amplifier needs one. Two channels of speaker wire go in, two RCA outputs come out, and the amplifier gets a proper low-level signal to work with. It is compatible with OEM radios that use short-circuit protection, taking as much as 50 W of speaker-level input and delivering up to 8 volts of output. That output range is high enough to hit the input sensitivity of most amplifiers without cranking the gain, which is how installers keep hiss out of the system. Frequency response stays flat from 20 Hz to 20,000 Hz, so the converter passes the signal without shaping it. Nothing gets rolled off at the low end, which matters when the RCA feed is heading to a subwoofer amplifier. The micro surface-mount housing is small enough to hide behind a dash panel, and the split-pin RCA ends with silver-tinned oxygen-free copper carry the converted signal to the amplifier with the same contact quality Kicker builds into its K-Series interconnects. Use it to feed a two-channel amplifier or a monoblock subwoofer amplifier from an untouched factory radio.

Features

    • Amplifier Signal From A Stock Radio

Two channels of factory speaker wire go in and RCA outputs come out, giving an aftermarket amplifier the low-level signal a stock head unit cannot provide.

    • Output With Headroom

Up to 8 volts of output reaches the input sensitivity of most amplifiers without pushing the gain high, which is how installers keep hiss out of a system.

    • Passes The Signal Untouched

Flat response from 20 Hz to 20,000 Hz means nothing is rolled off at the low end, so a subwoofer amplifier receives the full bass content.

    • Plays Nice With Protected Radios

Compatibility with OEM radios that use short-circuit protection means the factory head unit keeps working normally once the converter is tapped in.

    • Fits Where There Is No Room

The micro surface-mount housing tucks behind a dash panel or into the harness bundle, so the install leaves nothing visible in the cabin.
