The Kicker 46KMFC8 pairs 8" marine coaxial speakers with flat-surface-mount cans, sold as a set of two. The pods use the same materials and performance as the KMTC tower series, redesigned for installs where there is no tower bar to clamp to: a flat deck surface, a roll cage plate, a bulkhead, or a hardtop. Included inserts set the aim. Use one or two of them and the pod installs in any of four configurations, flat or angled, pitched up or down 5 or 10 degrees, so the sound points at the people instead of past them. Each speaker runs a UV-treated polypropylene woofer with a Santoprene surround, a 1 in (2.5 cm) titanium tweeter, and a UV-resistant polymer basket, on a 4-ohm voice coil handling 150 W RMS and 300 W peak. Sensitivity is 92 dB and response runs 30 Hz - 21 kHz. The grille carries a seven-color LED system, so the pods light the deck at night in whatever color matches the boat. A through-mount wiring system keeps the connections tidy and out of the weather, and 316L stainless mounting hardware comes in the box, which is the grade that holds up in salt air. The pods meet or exceed ASTM standards for UV and salt/fog exposure, so sun, spray, and open-water use are all accounted for. The black finish keeps a low profile against dark hardware and cages.
