Product Description

The Kicker KEYLOC is a DSP-controlled line-output converter that automatically detects the frequency response and phase of a factory stereo system, then corrects it for a cleaner signal heading into aftermarket gear. Its patent-pending KEY algorithm analyzes crossovers, EQ, time delay, and all-pass filters already present in a factory system, then level-matches the left and right channels and corrects those filters to produce a clean, uncolored signal. A single push of the KEYLOC's button toggles the correction on and off, so an installer can hear the before and after difference directly. Because factory systems do not always send full-range signal down every speaker wire, KEYLOC also reads the available frequency range from any pair of speaker wires through its onboard LEDs, showing low, mid, or high output before any wiring decisions are made. FIT 2+ technology gives it an unusually wide input sensitivity range, from 125mV to 10V on the low-level side and 1V to 40V on the high-level side, letting it work with nearly any factory or aftermarket head unit on the market.

Features

    • Signal Correction, Automatically

The KEY algorithm detects crossovers, EQ, and time delay already present in a factory system, then corrects them for a clean, uncolored signal to aftermarket gear.

    • Hear the Difference Yourself

A single button toggles the correction on and off, letting an installer compare the before and after sound in real time.

    • Know What Each Wire Carries

Onboard LEDs show whether a given speaker wire carries low, mid, or high frequency content, removing the guesswork from tapping into a factory harness.

    • Fits Nearly Any System

FIT 2+ technology gives the KEYLOC an input range from 125 millivolts to 40 volts, covering both low-level and high-level factory signals.

    • Small Enough to Tuck Away

At 5-1/2 inches long, 1-3/8 inches tall, and 2-3/4 inches wide, the converter mounts out of sight behind a dash or under a seat.
