The 48VCWR122 pairs a 12-inch CompR subwoofer with a carpeted vented cabinet tuned for it, so the hardest part of a bass build is already finished. The front-facing tuned port raises acoustic output, letting 500 watts RMS produce levels that would take far more power in a sealed box. Peak handling is 1000 W and sensitivity measures 90.8 dB. Everything terminates at one 2-ohm post, which lets most monoblock amplifiers run near rated power with simple wiring. The CompR sub uses a blacked-out polypropylene cone bonded to a Santoprene surround with the signature red double stitching, and SoloKon technology joins the cone to a vented back brace so the moving assembly acts as one rigid piece. That cuts distortion at high excursion and moves heat off the motor, while Forced-Air Cooling runs the sub about 25 percent cooler than earlier CompR designs. The cabinet uses thick MDF, extensive internal bracing and custom embroidery under black carpet. At 18-3/8 inches wide it fits sedan trunks, SUV cargo areas and truck back seats where a wider box will not clear the opening.
