The CVX122 is a 12-inch CompVX subwoofer, the middle of the line and the size most systems land on. It borrows the design work from the square Solo-Baric L7 line and applies it to a round frame, so it fits standard cutouts while keeping the performance features that make those subs hit. The one-piece SoloKon cone with vented back bracing behaves as a single rigid unit, which keeps distortion down at full excursion and moves heat off the motor at the same time. A ribbed Santoprene surround with signature double blue stitching controls the thick polypropylene cone at maximum travel. The basket is cast aluminum with perimeter venting that circulates air through the motor, and a UniPlate extended pole piece and backplate pull heat out of the voice coil, so the sub keeps working when you run hundreds of watts through it for hours. Spring-loaded satin nickel terminals accept wire up to 10 gauge. The dual 2-ohm voice coils give you wiring options: parallel for 1 ohm or series for 4 ohms, so you can match the amplifier you already own. Recommended power is 750 watts RMS with 1500 watts peak, and response reaches down to 20 Hz. Sealed volumes run from 1.0 to 4.6 cubic feet and vented from 1.75 to 2.25, so the same sub works in a tight under-seat build or a large ported trunk box. Mounting depth is 6-11/16 inches behind an 11-1/16-inch cutout.
