The CompQ 15-inch subwoofer sits at the top of the round CompQ line, with construction and performance close to the square L7 subs. Fifteen inches of cone area moves a lot of air, so this is the choice when output at the bottom of the range is the whole point of the build.

Ribbed Santoprene surrounds and a BlueLace large-diameter progressive roll spider keep the suspension controlled at both low and high volume, so the cone stays linear instead of getting loose as excursion increases. Dual 2-ohm voice coils wire to 1 ohm in parallel or 4 ohms in series, and recommended power runs 600 to 1,200 W RMS.

Frequency response reaches 18 Hz. That is low enough to reproduce content most systems only hint at, and in a vehicle cabin those frequencies are felt as much as heard.

Plan the enclosure accordingly: sealed volumes run 1.5 to 6.0 cu ft, vented volumes run 3.0 to 6.0 cu ft, and panel dimensions for a minimum 1.5 cu ft sealed box are published for custom builds. Mounting depth is 8-15/16 inches with a 13-7/8 inch cutout, so a 15 needs a trunk, an SUV cargo area, or a truck bed build rather than a tight under-seat spot.
