Kicker 51HS8 8" Hideaway Under-Seat Powered Car Audio Subwoofer Compact Sub HS8

The Hideaway HS8 is the compact end of the powered Hideaway line: an 8-inch subwoofer and a 150 W amplifier in an enclosure just over three inches high and under 14 inches long. It was a CES Innovations award winner for design and engineering, and the reason is simple: it adds real bass to vehicles that have no room for a conventional box.

Installation is built around convenience. A quick-connect Molex plug and harness carries power, signal, and remote turn-on, and Velcro-fastened nylon straps hold the enclosure in place while still allowing quick removal when you need the space. High- and low-level inputs connect to nearly any factory or aftermarket head unit, and two automatic turn-on options handle activation.

Tuning is more complete than the size suggests. An adjustable low-pass crossover runs 12 dB/octave from 50 to 120 Hz with a 24 dB/octave high-pass at 25 Hz, variable KickEQ boost adds up to +6 dB at 40 Hz, and a phase-cancelling switch helps you time the sub with the front speakers for maximum output. The included remote bass control lets you fine-tune level from the driver seat.

At 13-7/8 inches deep, 9-3/8 inches wide, 3-1/8 inches tall, and 9.4 lb, it slides under a seat in compact cars, trucks, and side-by-sides where a trunk build is not an option.
