The KICKER KSC680 is a pair of 6x8" 2-way coaxial speakers built as a direct replacement for factory door, dash and rear-deck speakers. Internally dampened polypropylene cones with rubber surrounds keep midrange and midbass controlled, while the 3/4-inch silk-dome tweeter reproduces highs with detail instead of glare.

Power handling runs 15 to 75W RMS. That range covers a factory head unit today and an outboard amplifier later, so the same speakers stay in the car as the system grows. Sensitivity of 90 dB means they play loud on modest power, and frequency response of 45Hz-21kHz covers everything above the subwoofer range.

Fitment is where these earn their place. Mounting hole diameter is 5 by 7-3/16 inches, top mount depth is 2-1/4 inches and tweeter protrusion is 2 mm, which keeps the speakers behind factory grilles and trim panels in most cars, trucks, SUVs and vans. The same frame also covers 5x7-inch factory openings, which is the common size in Ford, Mazda and older domestic trucks.

Run them as a full-range upgrade in a commuter car with worn paper factory speakers, as rear fill in a work truck, or as the top end of a system with a subwoofer handling everything below the crossover point. Treated cone material and rubber surrounds hold up to the heat, sun and humidity that door locations see year round.
