The KICKER KSS369 is a three-way component system: 6x9" woofers, 2-3/4-inch midranges and 1-inch tweeters, each with its own mounting options and a shared in-line 12dB crossover network. Adding a dedicated midrange takes vocal and midrange duty off the woofer, which is the single biggest step up from a two-way front stage in a noisy cabin.

The system is built around factory locations rather than custom panels. Woofers use an ultra-thin design with a 5-11/16 by 8-7/16-inch mounting hole and 3-3/16-inch mount depth, so they use original holes and hardware in many GM, Ford, Chrysler, Jeep, Dodge and select import models. The midrange ships with three mounting brackets for common upper-door and dash openings, and the tweeter offers angled, surface and flush mounting.

Rated power is 15 to 100W RMS with 200W peak handling, sensitivity is 92 dB and frequency response runs 30Hz-21kHz. The crossover splits at 2,000Hz to the woofer and 5,000Hz to the tweeter, with a slimline body that fits inside a door cavity instead of taking up trunk space.

Woofer grilles are not included, so plan on keeping factory grilles in place. This suits a builder who wants a real front stage without cutting sheet metal: a truck with a subwoofer behind the seat, a sedan running an amplified front and no rear fill, or a factory premium system that needs replacement drivers with more output than stock.
