KNS 6402

The KRK KNS 6402 is a closed-back, circumaural studio headphone built for tracking, editing, mixing, and general critical listening. Its 40 mm low-weight neodymium drivers cover 10 Hz to 22 kHz with less than 0.1% harmonic distortion, so you hear what is actually in the mix instead of a colored version of it. The closed-back design blocks up to 26 dBA of outside noise, which keeps headphone bleed out of your microphones during vocal and acoustic takes and keeps room noise out of your ears while you work.

A 122 dB max peak SPL leaves plenty of headroom for loud monitoring without the sound breaking up, and the 36 ohm impedance paired with 95 dB SPL @ 1mW sensitivity means an audio interface, laptop, or portable recorder can reach usable levels without a separate headphone amp.

Acoustic cellular foam pads with a leatherette cover spread pressure evenly, the spring steel headband applies a light 4 N of clamping force, and the self-aligning yoke sets each cup correctly on any head shape. Earcups rotate 90 degrees for single-ear monitoring or flat storage in the included soft bag.

At 0.44 lb without the cable, the impact-resistant plastic housing stays light on your head and takes daily studio handling. The 2.5 m (8.2 ft) 99.99% OFC cable detaches, and the ear pads, headband cushion, and cable are all field-replaceable, so normal wear does not retire the headphones.
