LCS-10 v.2 D4

The LCS-10 v.2 is a 10-inch subwoofer rated 500W RMS and 1000W peak, built for people who want deep bass without a large box or a large amplifier. Where most entry-level 10s give up on excursion and heat, this one carries 14mm of one-way linear Xmax and a double-stacked magnet with a vented coil gap and pole for cooling.

The v.2 revision addressed the practical details. It adds a custom-tooled frame in extra-thick stamped steel, push terminals that accept bare wire without fuss, a rubber mounting gasket to seal the woofer to the baffle, and upgraded flat tinsel leads stitched to the cone. Inside, a four-layer high-temperature copper voice coil handles sustained power.

Its low resonant frequency of 34.6 Hz is what makes the low end reach, and dual 4-ohm coils wire to 2 ohm or 8 ohm to suit both single-sub and multi-sub setups. The recommended ported box is a compact 1.0 cu ft with 26 sq in of port tuned to 35 Hz, and it also works sealed at 0.5 cu ft for tighter response in a small trunk. A 4th-order bandpass build runs a 0.4 cu ft sealed side and 1.2 cu ft ported side. Mounting takes 5.25 inches of depth behind a 9.375-inch cutout, shallow enough for under-seat truck boxes and behind-seat enclosures.
