1604VLZ4 16-Channel Compact Analog Mixer

The 1604VLZ4 tops Mackie's VLZ4 line with 16 channels and 16 Onyx mic preamps, giving a touring band, house of worship, or production company enough inputs to run a full show without patching in an expansion. Each preamp holds a 60 dB gain range and 128.5 dB of dynamic range, with distortion under 0.0007 percent from 20 Hz to 50 kHz across every input and output. A 3-band EQ with a sweepable midrange lets an engineer dial in the exact frequency causing trouble on any channel, backed by a 75 Hz low-cut filter on the mic inputs. Four aux sends with pan, solo, and overload and mute LEDs on each channel give real-time control over monitor mixes, while four stereo returns, eight direct outs, and four group and bus outputs cover complex routing for recording or broadcast. Sixty-millimeter long-wearing log-taper faders keep level changes consistent and repeatable through a full set, and 16 balanced inserts make it easy to patch outboard compressors or gates into individual channels. The steel wrap-around chassis with a black powder-coat finish and high-contrast controls is built for nightly use, and three rack-mount configurations are available through the optional Rotopod accessory when a console needs to live in a rack instead of on a table.
