Mackie 1642VLZ4 Mixer 16-channel Compact Analog Low-Noise w/ 10 ONYX Preamps

The Mackie 1642VLZ4 is a 16-channel compact analog mixer for bands, worship teams and AV rooms that need ten mic inputs and a stack of stereo sources in one low-noise desk. Ten Onyx mic preamps cover drums, guitar cabs, vocals and condensers with a 60 dB gain range, 128.5 dB dynamic range, +22 dBu line input handling and distortion under 0.0007%. Phantom power is on board for studio condenser mics, and improved RF rejection keeps transmitter buzz out of broadcast feeds.

Sixteen line inputs with +4/-10 operation take keyboards, laptops, video playback and wireless receivers. Each channel has 3-band EQ at 80 Hz, 2.5 kHz and 12 kHz, an 18 dB/oct 75 Hz low-cut filter for stage rumble, plus level, pan and PFL solo. Four aux sends run monitor wedges and outboard effects at the same time, and four stereo returns bring reverb, delay or extra playback back into the mix. The ALT 3/4 stereo bus adds a second output path for recording feeds or a lobby zone, and the control room/phones source matrix makes cueing quick.

Sixty-millimeter log-taper faders and 12-segment stereo meters give precise, readable control in dark rooms. Sealed rotary controls shrug off dust and grime, and the powder-coated steel chassis handles van rides and repeat load-ins. An optional rack ear kit mounts it in a 19-inch rack, and the multi-voltage power supply works worldwide.
