Big Knob Passive

The Mackie Big Knob Passive is a 2x2 studio monitor controller that does one job properly: switching sources and monitors and setting level from a single large knob within arm's reach. Choose between two input sources and two pairs of monitors, then check your mix on both sets without repatching cables behind the desk.

The signal path is fully passive with no power supply needed, so there is no added circuit noise, no wall wart hunting for an outlet and nothing to fail. Level changes happen in the analog domain, which keeps your interface output running at its designed level instead of dropping resolution in software.

Mono, mute and dim are the three checks that catch mix problems. Mono reveals phase cancellation and center-image issues before a track hits a phone speaker, dim drops level fast for a conversation without losing your reference point, and mute silences the room instantly.

The Built-Like-A-Tank chassis stands up to daily desk use, and the volume knob has the weight and feel the original Big Knob was known for. A bundle of 23 audio plugins is included for mixing and processing.
