The Mackie HM-800 is a 19" rackmount headphone amplifier with eight channels, sixteen outputs, and up to ten available mixes. It is the version to reach for when a session or service has more people than a four-channel unit can serve, and when several of them need something different in their headphones.

Two discrete main stereo inputs each have their own level control, with stereo outputs for passing signal on. Every channel has an Input Select switch to choose between them, so half the room can monitor one mix while the other half monitors another. Eight independent aux inputs go further: each channel can take its own stereo source, giving up to eight individual mixes on top of the two mains.

Each channel has two headphone outputs and a Stereo/Mono switch, useful for performers wearing a single ear or working from a mono cue. Seven-segment LED metering on every channel plus the main shows signal at a glance.
