MDB-1P Passive Direct Box DI Box

The Mackie MDB-1P passive direct box gives acoustic guitars and keyboards a clean path from stage or studio into a balanced mixer input. A high-impedance quarter inch input with a thru output lets the source still reach an amp while sending a balanced signal out through the male XLR connector. A -15dB pad keeps high-level sources from distorting the input, and the passive design keeps noise and coloration to a minimum so a guitar or keyboard sounds the way it does at the source. Inside, a thick steel chassis and impact-resistant corners are built to survive being tossed in a gig bag night after night. With a 20Hz to 20kHz frequency response, 128dB dynamic range, and 0.002% THD from 1kHz, the MDB-1P stays transparent running front-of-house at a live show or feeding a recording interface in the studio.
