The MB Quart FKB116 is a pair of 6.5-inch two-way coaxial speakers for the most common factory speaker size in cars, trucks, and SUVs. Each speaker handles 60 W RMS and 120 W peak, giving the pair 120 W RMS and 240 W peak, enough range to run off a stock radio now and an amplifier later. Frequency response spans 40 Hz to 22 kHz, the widest in the coaxial group, so these carry more low end than most factory replacements and still reach far into the treble. A 1-inch aluminum dome tweeter mounts at the cone center, and a 4 kHz internal crossover with a 12 dB slope keeps the transition to the tweeter even. The thermal-formed polypropylene cone is light for fast midrange, and butyl rubber surrounds add mid-bass punch while standing up to heat, cold, and humidity in door panels. A pure copper voice coil on a Kapton former holds strong magnetic force and moves heat away, helped by an over-coil cooling path through the epoxy-infused natural fiber spider. Heavy gauge stamped steel frames resist flex at high output, and a textured ABS gasket makes a rigid seal against the mounting surface. At 88 dB sensitivity the pair plays loud without much power. Mounting depth is 2.13 inches with a 5.59-inch cutout and 7.01-inch outside diameter, which clears most factory door and rear-deck locations. Connect with spade terminals or solder direct.
