FKB146

The MB Quart FKB146 is a pair of 4x6-inch two-way coaxial speakers cut for factory 4x6 locations, most often front doors and dash corners in domestic cars and trucks. Each speaker takes 45 W RMS and 90 W peak, so the pair handles 90 W RMS and 180 W peak, a range that fits both a stock head unit and a compact four-channel amplifier. Response runs 55 Hz to 20 kHz with a 1-inch aluminum dome tweeter at the cone center and a 6 kHz internal crossover on a 12 dB slope, so the shift from midrange to treble stays even instead of stepping. Thermal-formed polypropylene cones keep mass low for quick midrange, while butyl rubber surrounds add mid-bass weight and hold their properties through heat, cold, and humidity. A pure copper voice coil on a Kapton former generates strong magnetic force and pulls heat out of the motor, backed by an over-coil cooling path through the natural fiber spider. High-temp adhesive at the cone and surround joint keeps them bonded at high output, and heavy gauge stamped steel frames stop flex. The textured ABS gasket seals the frame to the panel to cut air leaks and rattles. Sensitivity of 88 dB keeps volume up on limited power. Cutout is 5.5 x 3.46 inches with a 5.94 x 3.84-inch outside dimension and 3-inch mounting depth. Wire with spade connectors or solder direct.
