The PK1-169 is a premium 6 x 9-inch two-way coaxial car speaker sold in pairs, sized for rear decks and door openings that take the largest common car speaker. Each speaker handles 55W RMS and 110W peak, or 110W RMS and 220W peak as a system, at 4 ohms. Response reaches from 20Hz to 22kHz with 85.5dB sensitivity, and that extra cone area is what gets you low end without a subwoofer in the trunk. Highs come from a 1-inch magnesium dome tweeter using WideSphere Technology in a tunable waveguide with a removable phase lens, creating an off-axis dispersion pattern that widens the sound stage from low, rearward mounting positions. The cone is aerated pop paper with a Mica blend, stiff enough to resist flex under power, with curvilinear geometry aimed at the upper midrange that carries vocals, guitar, and percussion. A built-in audiophile crossover with tight tolerance components handles the split between drivers. Supporting parts include high temperature wire on a Kapton former, a red woven cotton poly blend spider, molded polymer sealing gaskets against water and dust, an aerospace grade PA66 composite frame with 30 percent glass fiber, and stainless steel push and insert connectors. Grills are included. Cutout is 8.77 x 6.06 inches with 2.95 inches of mounting depth and a 9.44 x 6.61-inch outside dimension, so verify clearance under the rear deck before installing.
