Product Description

Putting a new radio in a Sephia, Sportage, Spectra, Rio or Sedona from this era means dealing with a factory connector no aftermarket receiver matches. The Metra 70-1003 handles it: the OEM plug snaps into the back of the dash opening, and the other side gives you color-coded leads that line up with standard aftermarket radio wiring, so power, ground, illumination, accessory and all four speaker pairs are labeled by color instead of guesswork. Nothing in the vehicle harness gets cut or spliced, so the car goes back to stock whenever you want it to. The leads are seven inches long and pre-stripped, giving you slack to make solid crimped or soldered joints outside the dash and then fold them back in. Metra builds the harness with flexible GXSL wire that carries full power from a modern head unit to the speakers, and the terminals are hand-assembled and pressure-sensitive so they hold their seat in the connector body through years of vibration. Heat-resistant insulation suits a spot behind the dash. Lifetime warranty from Metra.

Features

    • No Cutting, No Splicing

The harness plugs into your vehicle's factory radio connector, so an aftermarket receiver goes in without cutting a single wire in the original loom.

    • Color-Coded Wiring

Leads follow standard aftermarket radio color codes, so power, ground, illumination and each speaker pair are identified by color instead of guesswork.

    • Seven-Inch Leads

Longer leads give you slack to crimp or solder connections outside the dash cavity, then fold the bundle back in behind the new radio.

    • GXSL Wire Construction

Flexible GXSL wire carries the full current a modern head unit sends to four speakers, so none of the receiver output is lost along the way.

    • Reversible Upgrade

Since the factory wiring stays intact, the original radio can go back in later, which matters at trade-in time or on a vehicle you plan to sell.
