Product Description

The Metra 70-5512 is an amplifier bypass harness for 1993-2006 Ford, Lincoln and Mercury vehicles with the factory premium sound system. It routes signal around the factory amplifier so an aftermarket receiver, or an aftermarket amp, powers the speakers directly. That puts level and crossover control in the new head unit instead of leaving it to OEM processing. Lead ends arrive pre-stripped, so you can crimp or solder straight into your receiver harness with no prep work. The 7 in leads leave slack to make connections outside the dash cavity, then tuck the bundle back in without pulling tension on a terminal. Plugs into the factory pre-amp harness at the radio. Metra builds these harnesses with flexible GXSL wire that carries full current from the radio, heat-resistant insulation for a dash that bakes all summer, and hand-assembled, pressure-fit terminals held to OEM tolerances.
