The Metra Electronics 99-5812 multi-kit fills the space between an aftermarket single-DIN radio and the factory dash opening in select 2004-2006 Ford, Lincoln, and Mercury vehicles. It gives the new head unit a solid mounting point and a finished face, so the install reads as factory instead of aftermarket.

The kit uses Metra's patented quick-release snap-in ISO mount system with a custom trim ring, which lets you slide the radio in and pull it back out later without taking the dash apart. The recessed DIN opening sets the radio face at the correct depth, and the kit holds both DIN and ISO DIN chassis, so you are not locked into one radio style.

Panels are molded from high-grade ABS plastic, then contoured and textured to match the surrounding trim. Color and size are matched to each specific vehicle, so the finished install shows no gaps around the edges. Where the dash layout allows, the kit adds a storage pocket below the radio, turning dead space into a spot for a phone, cables, or a toll transponder.
