MTX 3512-04 12" Car Audio Subwoofer

The MTX 3512-04 is a 12" single voice coil, 4-ohm car subwoofer built for installers who want the SPL benefit of a 12" cone without needing a low-impedance amplifier. Rated at 250W RMS and 500W peak, it works with either a sealed or vented enclosure, giving flexibility depending on the vehicle and the sound the installer is chasing.

The 3512-04 uses the same Inverted Apex surround found throughout the 35 Series, increasing usable cone surface area for more volume displacement and higher SPL than a standard surround of comparable size. A progressive suspension controls cone excursion as power increases, keeping distortion low so bass stays clean rather than breaking up at higher volumes. Spider Plateau Venting targets cool air directly at the voice coil, managing the heat buildup that causes output to fade during extended, loud sessions.

With a 28Hz to 130Hz frequency response and an 86 dB sensitivity rating, the 3512-04 pairs with a 1.0 cubic foot sealed enclosure or a 2.32 cubic foot vented box, and a recommended amplifier power of 125-250W RMS makes matching an amp straightforward. Running at 4 ohms instead of 2 also opens the door to a wider range of common amplifiers without needing a dedicated low-impedance design.
